A11yTrail - Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how A11yTrail ("A11yTrail," "we") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, browser extension, and services (the "Service").
1. Information we collect.
- Account information: name, email address, and a hashed password when you register.
- Billing information: processed by our payment provider and Merchant of Record, Paddle. A11yTrail does not store your full card details; Paddle handles payment data and tax as the seller of record.
- Monitoring data: the URLs of websites you choose to monitor, and the accessibility scan results for those sites (which describe publicly available web pages). You should only submit sites you own or are authorized to test.
- Browser extension: the A11yTrail extension runs an accessibility scan on the page you are actively viewing when you click it (using the
activeTabpermission). Scan results stay in your browser unless you choose to save them to your account, in which case they are sent to our servers. The extension does not track your browsing history or read pages you do not explicitly scan. - Usage and technical data: log data, device/browser information, and error diagnostics used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use information.
To provide and maintain the Service; run scheduled scans and send alerts; generate reports; process payments (via Paddle); communicate with you; prevent abuse; and improve the Service.
3. Third parties we share with.
We share limited information with service providers who help us operate, including Paddle (payments, tax, billing) and our hosting and transactional-email providers. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies.
We use a strictly necessary authentication cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
5. Data retention.
We retain account and scan history for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion (see below).
6. Your rights.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these, contact kelvin.nyadzayo16@gmail.com.
7. Security.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Children.
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18.
9. Changes.
We may update this policy; material changes will be communicated via the Service or email.
